Schematic representation of TMPRSS2 structure: TM is the transmembrane domain, LDL receptor class A domain and SRCR (scavenger receptor cysteine rich domain) form the stem region. The serine protease domain is composed by the catalytic amino acid triad histidine, aspartic acid and serine, essential for proteolytic activity.
