Stromal Derived Factor 1 (SDF-1α) or CXCL12 is a small cytokine from the chemokine family. It is natural ligand of CXCR4 It has a role in angiogenesis, tumor metastasis and the migration of cells from the liver to the bone marrow during embryogenesis. The images on the left and right correspond to one representative SDF-1α structure, i.e. the human SDF-1α (2kec).
